VILLA DI CAPEZZANA (red)

Villa di Capezzana is a fine wine produced by the Contini Bonacossi family since 1925. Using only the best Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, the winemaking process involves the use of steel tanks, followed by malolactic fermentation in French oak tonneaux and bottle aging for at least 12 months. Intense ruby red in color with violet reflections, the wine has fruity notes of cherry and blackberry, combined with pleasant hints of spice and leather. On the palate, it is smooth and fresh, with a perfect balance between tannins and acidity, and a broad and complex aftertaste with a long persistence that tends towards sweet licorice.

Pairing and tasting suggestions:

Villa di Capezzana is ideal for enjoying in company, perhaps during an important dinner or lunch, accompanying red meats and roasts, but also mature cheeses and pasta dishes with flavorful sauces. It is best served at a temperature of 61-64°F, after allowing it to breathe for at least half an hour. A wine to be savored slowly, to fully appreciate its nuances and unique notes.

COLOR: Intense ruby red

AROMA: Elegant, with notes of black cherry and raspberry well blended with ripe fruit

FLAVOR: Soft and enveloping on the palate, with soft tannins and good body. The acidity is present but well balanced by the richness of the tannins. Long finish, with an aftertaste tending towards sweet licorice

TREFIANO RISERVA (docg)

Trefiano di Capezzana is a very rare and prized Tuscan Carmignano DOCG wine, born from an idea by Vittorio Contini Bonacossi in 1979. Produced only in small quantities each year, the grapes come from two centuries-old vineyards near the Villa di Trefiano. The clayey schist soil gives the wine unique organoleptic characteristics. The blend comprises 80% Sangiovese, 10% Cabernet, and 10% Canaiolo. Trefiano is aged for 18 months in tonneaux and then in the bottle for at least 1 year. The color is an intense ruby red, with an elegant aroma of ripe red fruits, sweet spices, vanilla, and licorice. On the palate, the wine is balanced and harmonious, with a delicate tannic texture and a persistent, spicy finish.

Pairing and tasting suggestions:

Capezzana's Trefiano is a wine that should be served at a temperature of 18-19°C to enhance its organoleptic characteristics. As for food pairings, this wine is perfect with meat dishes, both red and white, thanks to its balanced structure and characteristic spicy notes.

COLOR: Intense ruby red

AROMA: Ample, elegant, persistent, fruity with spicy notes

FLAVOR: Soft, structured, almost opulent, with dense tannins. Acidity balanced with the structure and volume of the wine. Long and persistent aftertaste with fruity notes of small red fruits combined with spices. Excellent aromatic dimension on the finish with a rich spicy and fruity aftertaste.

GHIAIE DELLA FURBA IGT

Capezzana's Ghiaie della Furba I.G.T. Bio is a prestigious wine born from the passion of Ugo and Vittorio Contini Bonacossi. The addition of Syrah to the original Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot grapes gives the wine an intense aromatic complexity. The grapes come from old vines grown on clayey schist soil, and the vinification process involves 18 months of aging in barriques, followed by a further 12 months in the bottle. Ghiaie della Furba has an intense ruby red color and a broad, complex, and elegant bouquet. On the palate, the wine is smooth, with an important structure, dense and sweet tannins, and a long and persistent aftertaste.

Pairing and tasting suggestions:

Ghiaie della Furba should be served at a temperature between 64 and 68°F to fully appreciate its aromatic and gustatory complexity. It is recommended to pair it with red meats, roasts, braised meats, and aged cheeses. Thanks to its strong structure, it is also ideal for game dishes.
