The grapes, Sangiovese and Mammolo, used for this wine are grown in the production area between La Ciarliana and Ascianello in Montepulciano at about 320 meters above sea level.

Aging takes place in large Slavonian oak barrels and French oak barriques, for 24 months plus a further 6 months in the bottle.

Straightforward and authentic wine already from the nose that expresses notes of cherries, blackberries, blueberries, balsamic touches and intense notes of tobacco and toasted coffee. Structured palate, perfect in the play of balance between acids and tannins, embellished in the base by a substantial sapid trail.

Luigi Frangiosa, owner of the La Ciarliana farm, takes care of the production, from the vineyard to the sale. 21 hectares of vineyards, of which 13 in the municipality of Montepulciano and 8 in the municipality of Chianciano. "Our first wine dates back to 1996, ours is a family business. We take particular care of the vineyards, almost obsessive: we do manual harvesting in several steps, our goal is quality ".

The Vino Nobile di Montepulciano La Ciarliana is a wine with a soul, which is born from a strong passion and a particular attachment to the territory. The company is located in an area with a prevalence of clay and red earth, rich in minerals; this minerality is also transmitted to the wine, which is very long in the mouth after tasting. "It is a very structured wine, with great body and great color, due to the manual processing we do in the cellar, which allows us to extract the maximum of color and structure."

Perfect balance of skilled ancient tradition and modern technological innovation, La Ciarliana embodies a dream, which began with the first bottle of Vino Nobile di Montepulciano that Luigi produced in 1996, which derives from the passion of his father, Santo Pellegrino and from that, even earlier , of grandfather Luigi, started in the 60s.

A dream today looking towards the future, in Matteo's eyes. The property has grown from the initial 2 hectares to the current 21, registered in Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, Rosso di Montepulciano and Chianti. The vineyards, with a density of 5000 plants per hectare, were planted following a careful geological and clonal study.
